Internap’s bundled solution enabled Synacor to consolidate eight production networks into one global Internet platform with 100 percent availability, full security and easy scalability. Synacor, Inc., an Internet tools and portal company for the cable and telecommunications industries based in Buffalo, NY, works with more than 30 premium content providers, including CNN, HBO, Major League Baseball, NASCAR, the National Hockey League and Showtime and provides services to major Internet service providers (ISP), telecom operator and cable operator customers such as Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Embarq, WOW! and Charter Communications. Synacor’s portals and Internet applications have over 40 million end users around the world, across seven time zones. Through Internap’s CDN, Synacor streams movie trailers and promotions for television shows while leveraging Internap’s Performance IP for administrative applications, new customers and as a reliable backup to legacy network services. As part of the implementation, Synacor will move over several hundred blade servers into Internap’s secured, high-density power data center space, which includes seamless integration with Internap’s network services. “Synacor is a high-growth business and the company could not afford the intermittent network reliability, low-power data center space and price escalations found with some providers,” said Adam Howell, director of networks and IT operations for Synacor. “We evaluated 26 data centers in seven states before selecting Internap. With Internap, we get an integrated solution from a trusted company that saves us money and improves the reliability of our Web portals and Internet tools. Switching to Internap is the most important IP operations project we will complete this year.” Internap has developed a suite of integrated network and hosting services to power business-critical Web sites and Internet applications with 100 percent reliability. With 44 data center sites, 77 network service points around the world and patented route optimization technology, Internap offers business and government organizations the confidence to streamline operations and grow their business online. Customers can outsource all or part of their Internet infrastructure services to Internap while focusing on developing innovative Web 2.0 applications with streaming media, real-time analytics, social networking and 3-D graphics. “Our powerful network services and engineering resources provide an Internet platform for Synacor, enabling the company to consolidate and optimize its IT infrastructure,” said Tim Sullivan, chief technology officer at Internap. “We make it easy for customers like Synacor to grow and are pleased to serve as a foundation for their global growth initiatives.” About Synacor About Internap Internap “Safe Harbor” Statement Our Annual Report on Form 10-K/A, subsequent Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q, recent Current Reports on Form 8-K and other Securities and Exchange Commission filings discuss the foregoing risks, as well as other important risk factors that could contribute to such differences or otherwise affect our business, results of operations and financial condition.
