Internap’s Performance IP™ Network Enables Wireless Connectivity for First Mile’s Commercial Office Building Customers

Intelligent route optimization and IP solution support exponential bandwidth growth to meet enterprise market demand

ATLANTA, GA – (December 12, 2007) – Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a global provider of end-to-end Internet business solutions, today announced it is providing route-optimized IP services to support First Mile Communications in its wireless connectivity initiatives. A provider of high-capacity wireless Internet services to tenants in Class A commercial office buildings, First Mile is looking to Internap to enable it to provide superior, high-capacity connectivity for its Atlanta customers as well as the ability to facilitate expansion of its offering into additional markets across the nation.

Currently connecting over 9 million square feet of space in 15 commercial office buildings, First Mile selected Internap as its primary provider of IP transit services to meet the growing market demand for high-bandwidth requirements from tenants within its served footprint. First Mile currently supports high-capacity customers with seamless, secure wireless connectivity, ranging from 3-mbps to up to 200-mpbs, and relies on Internap’s network service and expertise to provide a flexible and more scalable solution that operates at the highest level of performance for their enterprise customers.

First Mile’s 99.999% Service Level Agreement (SLA) promises customers availability, quality and performance while addressing latency, jitter and packet-loss. This offering is unique to the wireless connectivity market for large enterprises and demonstrates First Mile’s confidence in its solutions. Complemented by Internap’s own 100% SLA for IP services, First Mile’s SLA offers its commercial office building customers unmatched support.

"By teaming with Internap, we are able to not only offer higher levels of service, but also expand our wireless connectivity options for our enterprise customers,” said R. Stanley Allen, president of First Mile. “We’re competing with large carriers and Internap’s services enable us to provide a best-in-class solution for high performance IP transit and wireless access.”

According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the average network outage in 2006 was 4.5 hours. To combat the outages attributed to traditional landline Internet access, First Mile’s offering features true path diversity by utilizing FCC licensed spectrum and equipment from state-of-the-art, carrier class radiofrequency (RF) electronics and metro Ethernet vendors like Ceragon and Cisco that enable connectivity to Internap and other Tier 1 Internet backbone providers.

“First Mile is an ideal example of Internap’s sophisticated IP technology at work,” said James P. DeBlasio, chief executive officer for Internap. “Our market-leading resources are enabling First Mile to meet the exponential growth in demand from commercial office buildings for wireless bandwidth, and our capabilities will allow the company to continue to grow with its customers to retain and attract business across the country.”

Internap’s proprietary route control technology intelligently routes Internet traffic, effectively combating the limitations of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). As a result, customers like First Mile are powered with a fast, automated and reliable wireless data delivery solution, as opposed to more traditional landline routing methods.
